GET RID OF SUN DAMAGE, BLOOD VESSELS, REDNESS AND BROWN SPOTS!
What exactly is a Photofacial?
Questions about photofacials, or fotofacials, are frequently asked by patients new to the world of lasers and light-based technology. Photofacials are a great way to improve skin tone and even out discoloration on the skin. This treatment is often recommended to individuals seeking younger looking skin. The treatment is also great for treating age spots and spider veins, facial redness, acne scars, as well as for diminishing the appearance of broken capillaries in the skin. The positive difference it can quickly make in one’s appearance is remarkable.
SR IPL – Outstanding Technology
SR/SRA Elos Plus is the world’s first and only technology that incorporates both bipolar RF (Radio Frequency) and Optical Energy (either laser or pulsed light). The combination of these two types of energy allows for better total energy delivery into the skin, to treat blood vessels, redness, and brown spots.
About IPL ELOS™ By Candela
Developed by IPL inventor/patent-holder Dr. Shimon Eckhouse and master physicist, Dr. Michael Kreindel, elos™ is the first and only technology that simultaneously harnesses the power of bipolar radio frequency (RF) and optical energy (either laser or light) and provides skin rejuvenation for all skin types. Compared to earlier IPL technology, there is less risk of blistering, scabbing, crusting and hyper or hypo pigmentation, also there is reduced redness and inflammation and less pain. The technology treats superficial benign vascular and pigmented lesions including Telangiectasias, Rosacea, Poikiloderma and Angioma for true skin rejuvenation.
Why is elos™ technology more effective than standard IPL?
By emitting the optical pulse and electric pulse at the same time, the net effect is to force the electric energy to stream preferentially to the regions of the dermis pre-heated by the absorbed light, producing a greater and more focused thermal effect than a single pulse of high energy light. With less intense light energy there are less burning risks and the synergistic coupling of energies means that each pulse can be delivered for a longer period of time than standard IPL – yielding improved results.
The gentle light and electric energies break up the pigment and blood in lesions and stimulate collagen restructuring and production, thus restoring skin to a more youthful state. Brown spots (pigmented imperfections) from sun damage and aging, red blotchiness or rosacea (vascular imperfections) and rough skin texture will improve over a series of treatments.
Each elos™ Skin Rejuvenation treatment will result in gradual lightening and improvement of pigmented and vascular imperfections. Textural improvements are appreciated towards the end of the treatment series.
Before and After the IPL Treatment
For best results, skin should not be tanned. After treatment, skin may be slightly pink, but color should improve within a few hours. Brown spots that have been treated with IPL typically become darker after treatment, but should slough off naturally within the first week. Scrubbing the spots is not advisable. Your recommended amount of treatments will depend on your level of sun damage, but most patients can achieve their desired outcome after 3-5 treatments approximately 3-4 weeks apart.
After IPL treatments, makeup should be avoided for 24 hours
Throughout the course of treatment, a sunblock of SPF 30 or higher should be used at all times
Avoid retinoids, glycolics, and salicylic acid agents for one week after treatment
Do not scratch or pick at skin in the treated area
